Parsley (also curly leaf parsley or flat leaf (Italian) parsley) 30 Jun, Liz (New Zealand - temperate climate)
Parsley will grow in a pH range between 5.6 (acidic) and 7.5 (neutral) with a preferred range between 6.0 and 7.0.
Asparagus 25 Jun, dennis leavesley (Australia - temperate climate)
what Fert. do you use on your asparagus
Asparagus 26 Jun, (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
Try using composed manure or compost. Any general fert would do. The ferns that have grown the last 6-8 months have put a lot of energy into the crown to supply nutrients for the coming crop.

Do you have to wait till the top has died down before harvesting? I'm not sure what to do as there is some older growth but one new stalk has come through.

And make sure you plant varieties that cope with your particular climate. Many varieties dont cope well with heat and will bolt to seed

Hi Mike... I'm in zone 9b, as well. I'm wondering if you decided to plant asparagus.... and if you did, how did it work out for you? I just bought crowns and hope to plant this week. I have a spot that is cooler than most of my property. Wish me luck!
Asparagus 06 Mar, Evan (USA - Zone 9b climate)
I put crowns in last summer and cut the canes down in the late fall. I now have first asparagus in March. Should I let them grow and not pick them?. No frost here. 1200 feet up and maybe 4 miles from the ocean in California. Fog at night in May-July but sun during the day. Warm to hot fall.
Potato 21 Jun, Cheryl Burke (Australia - temperate climate)
I live in Clarence Town NSW. TEMPERATE climate but we do get frosts. I have just bought some seed potatoes. Should I plant them now or wait until August? If I wait, do Ineed to put them in the sun to encourage them to shoot?

Put them in your pantry until late August and then plant.

Kohlrabi 20 Jun, Phindile (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
I want to know where can I buy kohlrabi plant in south africa
Kohlrabi 06 Nov, Zodwa, Gauteng (South Africa - Summer rainfall climate)
Hi Phindile I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 5 years ago. Yesterday I came across an article about this kohlrabi plant. I also would like to know where to get the seeds of this plant. When I googled earlier I saw that Woolworths sells a bunch of this kohlrabi for R19,99; but like you I prefer to have the seeds so that I could plant it myself in my own garden. Please let me know if you get any positive responses.
Potato 18 Jun, Nox (South Africa - Semi-arid climate)
How do I make my potatoes carry more. I intend planting in September
Asparagus 18 Jun, Florence (Australia - arid climate)
We planted our asparagus in summer and although it is winter now, the ferns are still green. There wasn't any berries in autumn, Do we have to cut off the ferns or just leave them to die out?
Asparagus 24 Jun, (Australia - sub-tropical climate)
Don't water them from now until late August and then cut them.
